Elevate Your Game with Small Group Training at ID Hoops!

Why small group training?
Small group training is highly beneficial to athletes because they are challenged by the coach and their peers to pick up and/or refine their skills. Iron sharpens iron in small groups because the skills that are taught are immediately put to the test with defense/offense.
To learn a skill is the first step, next you must know how and when to apply it. Small group trainings will build each week on top of the other and will constantly revisit concepts as needed. It is a proven fact that athletes become better by competing with one another at a high level that pushes them past their limits. Athletes can also expect to use the various technologies we have at the facility to further their skill development.
How does small group training work?
Our Small group training requires a minimum of 5 players and will have a maximum of 10 players. This enables us to grant a $35 per player/session price point. Group sessions are based on trainer and facility availability, and times can vary week by week. Sessions are expected to be 1 hour (sometimes 75 mins) long.
Who is small group training for?
Players who seriously want to get better are welcomed to group training on a first come first serve model. This is not for players who just want scrimmage or just play around, as this will disrupt the flow of the group.
5th/6th Grade Girls Group Training:
This small group focuses on the fundamentals of skill development. Learning how to shoot, dribble, pass, defend and make your layups, are essential skills that solidify the foundation of your game. We not only need to be proficient in performing these skills, but performing with a defender in front of us. This helps us to understand when to execute moves based on how the defense is set up, which will promote better decision making in games.
Girls Middle School Group (Varsity 7th/8th Grade) Training:
At this level, fundamentals are still touched upon. We notice that girls in this age group are still not proficient in making layups, and the percentage drastically goes down when facing pressure. In this group we advance the moves, not only working on different dribbling styles but also how to move your body more efficiently in order to handle pressure and create space. Speed, pace and rhythm become important factors when solidifying consistency in shooting, dribbling, passing and defending.
Boys Middle School Group Training:
Boys Basketball features a high level of physicality, athleticism and speed. In this group, we are locking in on high speed and reps that require them to be more physical. As they become more proficient in the fundamentals, they will require more live reps that will call for them to make better game decisions.
